Marigold Roots Pop-up Museum

10am – 2pm in the Pekin Park Pavilion

The Dirksen Congressional Center will be hosting a pop-up museum in the Pekin Park Pavilion during the Marigold Festival that will primarily tell the story of the “marigold roots” — Everett Dirksen’s history with the marigold, his efforts to make it the National Floral Emblem, and marigold-related tributes to him, culminating in the Marigold Festival itself. We’ll also have copies of Everett Dirksen’s reissued memoir available for purchase.
